Will You Join Me?
Today's post is inspired by Brian Eno's and Peter Schmidt's Oblique Strategies Cards. The card I drew read Courage! So, let's use that as a starting point.
When I think of courage I think of the following quote from Cameron Crowe's 2011 film, We Bought A Zoo:
You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it.
I think I need to call upon those 20 seconds more often. I know it's from a movie and movies aren't real, but there is a surprising amount of truisms found in make-believe. At least for me there is.
We are constantly told to be brave, to be bold! Fortune favors the bold after all. That is something I ascribe to.
And maybe that's something I also need to call upon / remember more often.
Maybe we all do. Imagine if we all were courageous and put forth our best work. Ain't that a beautiful thought? And a thought is the first step to an action.
I'm going to do my part. Will you join me?
