I haven't studied human psychology as much as I'd like to at this point, but I was thinking about this idea yesterday:
You have to let people come to things in their own time. You can't force anything upon anyone and expect a positive response.
At least I don't think you can.
There are things that I missed out on the first time they came into my life, or the 30th time they came into my life. Certain bands, certain food, certain activities, I've said no to them only to come to love them when the time was right for me.
And that's something that I'm recognizing in those around me - I can share whatever I want with them, but I have no expectations that they'll take to it or try it out for themselves immediately.
I know someone else summed it up a lot better than I did in the old saying of you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.
Ain't that the truth!
