If Only You Would (and You Should) Ask

I have no excuse for missing the 18th.  I don’t know what happened.  So this post counts for January 18th.

I’m often asked questions about how Canary does what it does.  We’ve managed to do some pretty cool things since the band started a little more than two years ago.

For starters, I have no idea what I’m doing and I’m convinced that no one else does either. Everything is an experiment.  One area I excel in is letting go of the fear of being told no.  If there’s someone I want to talk to, I talk to him.

It’s almost too easy to get in touch with people these days that excuses for not talking to someone you want to talk to are minimal.  Ask.  The worst thing someone will every say is no.  People are generally good and willing to help - at least the people I’ve gotten to know in the music industry.

This goes for every industry.  I urge all of you to give it a try - contact someone you wish to have on your speed dial.  One person at a time and pretty soon, who knows who you’ll know.
