One thing I’ve always had an issue with in electronic music is that there isn’t any room for imperfections.  Well, there is, but I imagine most DJs would fix anything that they can before releasing it or playing it to an audience.

Instruments breathe.  I make mistakes when I perform and when I record. I’d rather make mistakes and capture a bit of the human element than be perfect.  Some of my favorite moments from musicians I admire are the ones where they aren’t perfect.

Some people say there’s a shift happening in what people want.  We went through a phase of wanting perfectly crafted music done predominantly with machines.  Now people have been gravitating towards people playing instruments.  Mumford and Sons, the Lumineers, Dawes, and so on and so forth.

It could all be wishful thinking.  I’m generally one to think about the future and how good it can be, but every now and then I can’t help but feel a little down that I missed the golden era of rock n roll.
